Cookie Policy
Effective 16 August 2026
The short version
pitchwhip.com sets three small cookies, all of them needed to run the site: one to keep you logged in to your dashboard, one to remember your cookie choice, and one to remember which country you’re visiting from. We set no advertising or tracking cookies. Our visitor statistics come from Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless — and we only load it once you’ve accepted, or when you’re somewhere that doesn’t require asking.
What we set
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| pw_session | Keeps you logged in to the customer portal (/app). Holds a signed token (valid up to 7 days) that carries your licence key — encoded, not encrypted — plus its issue and expiry times. HttpOnly and Secure, so page scripts can't read it. | Essential | Up to 7 days, or until you log out | pitchwhip.com |
| pw_consent | Remembers the answer you gave on the cookie banner (“all” or “essential”) so we don't ask again. | Essential | 1 year | pitchwhip.com |
| pw_geo | A two-letter country code, resolved from your connection when the page is served, so we know whether to show the consent banner at all. Contains no other information. | Essential | 7 days | pitchwhip.com |
| Vercel Web Analytics | Aggregate page-view statistics. Cookieless — it sets no cookie and stores no identifier in your browser. Only loads if you accept, or if you're outside a consent jurisdiction. | Analytics (no cookie) | — | Vercel |
Essential vs. everything else
Essential cookies are the ones the site can’t work without — logging in, remembering that you answered the banner. Under UK PECR and the EU ePrivacy rules these don’t need consent, and the banner doesn’t ask about them.
Analytics is the only non-essential thing we do, and it doesn’t use a cookie at all: Vercel Web Analytics counts page views in aggregate from the request itself, without storing anything in your browser or building a profile of you. We gate it behind the banner anyway, because the honest answer to “are you measuring me?” should be one you chose.
Who sees the banner
Visitors from the UK, the EU and EEA, and Switzerland — where the law asks for consent before non-essential measurement. If we can’t tell where you are, we ask too. Everyone else is measured by default and can still opt out on this page.
Your choice
- Accept all — analytics loads; we set
pw_consent=allfor a year. - Reject — nothing beyond the essential cookies; we set
pw_consent=essentialfor a year so we don’t keep asking. - Change your mind — press the button below. It forgets your previous answer and the banner reappears at once. You can also delete the cookies from your browser settings at any time; the site will simply ask again.
You haven't made a choice yet.
Third parties
Vercel (hosting and the analytics above), Lemon Squeezy (the checkout you’re sent to when buying — a separate site with its own cookies), and Web3Forms (delivers the enquiry forms; sets nothing in your browser). None of them can set cookies on pitchwhip.com. How each handles data is described in our Privacy Policy.
